Fees and Insurance
Fee
I believe strongly in the power of meeting with relationship clients for longer sessions. There's nothing worse than getting into something important right before the 50-minute hour is up, only to send you out into the world mid-argument.
When starting out, I like to meet with relationship clients weekly for 80 minutes. Most people will eventually move to every other week sessions (or less frequently) once we all agree progress has been made toward your goals.
Tom Bruett, LMFT Fees
Individual Therapy Sessions (50 minutes) - $230
Relationship Session (80 Minutes) - $370
Weekend Intensive/Retreat (two full days)- Please reach out to learn about this fee.
Payment
I accept most major credit cards, cash or check. HSA cards work as well.
Insurance
If you wish to use your insurance to help with the cost of therapy, I will provide a statement for you to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. I am not on any preferred provider or managed-care lists and thus am considered an out-of-network provider. Most PPO plans will provide some reimbursement for out-of-network mental healthcare, but I recommend checking with the member services department for your specific plan in advance.
Please contact me and we can talk about this further.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
